TIER2 will share insights on research reproducibility, responsible data practices, and the broader impacts of open science at Metascience 2025, taking place from 30 June to 2 July at University College London.
On 30 June, a session “Cultures of openness: enabling & measuring the impacts of open science” (11:30–13:00) will feature Dr. Nicki Lisa Cole alongside experts from Wellcome, Aalto University, and Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s to explore how openness in research is defined, assessed, and implemented across institutions.
On 1 July, a session “Toward a feminist metascience: perspectives and pain points” (11:30–13:00) will be moderated by Dr. Cole, facilitating a discussion on how feminist principles can inform more equitable and inclusive metascience practices.
Later that day, during the poster session (17:45–20:30), TIER2’s collaborative work will be highlighted across several contributions focused on embedding reproducibility, measuring open science impacts, and promoting responsible data practices with publishers:
-
“How can funders enhance Reproducibility? – The Development of the Reproducibility Promotion Plan for Funders” – Joeri Tijdink, Barbara Leitner (AmsterdamUMC), Alexandra Bannach-Brown (Berlin Institute of Health), Friederike Elisabeth Kohrs (BIH, QUEST Center for Responsible Research)
-
“Enabling Reproducible and User-Friendly Computational Tools for Social Science: The Methods Hub Initiative” – Fakhri Momeni, Taimoor Khan (GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences)
-
“Embedding Reproducibility in Research Planning: Insights from the TIER2 Reproducibility Management Plan Pilot” – Stefania Amodeo (OpenAIRE), Elli Papadopoulou (Athena Research Center)
-
“The Editorial Reference Handbook: partnering with publishers to foster a culture of responsible data practices” – Rebecca Taylor-Grant, Matthew Cannon (Taylor and Francis), Allyson Lister, Susanna-Assunta Sansone (University of Oxford)
Following the Conference, on 3–4 July, TIER2 will join sister projects OSIRIS and iRISE for а Tripartite General Assembly. This event will bring together project partners, collaborators, and thought leaders for the last joint General Assembly for the three Horizon Europe flagship projects shaping the future of research integrity, reform, and reproducibility across Europe.
